Dr. Christine Rad

DC, BKin, Acupuncture provider
Doctor of Chiropractic

Dr. Christine Rad provides evidence-informed manual therapy and acupuncture for athletes and families alike. Her clinical approach focuses on identifying your injury and/or pain, your lifestyle or athletic demands, and the limitations that exist therein. Dr. Rad has found repeated success in providing you with a better understanding of how your body functions using anatomy and practical movement education so that you can understand our goals with treatment while underscoring the importance of continuing your recovery with rehabilitation exercise prescription.

She places a heavy emphasis on manual therapy (MRT, fascial therapy, manipulations), including acupuncture, combined with movement testing and re-testing. We focus on what your can do, rather than what you cannot by giving you modifications to your movements so you can continue your recovery day-to-day. She will often revert back to basics to build a solid movement foundation to boost your confidence and improve your abilities in a sustainable manner. Her treatments will vary from person to person depending on their needs. She offers spinal & extremity manipulative therapy, acupuncture, soft tissue therapy (instrument assisted and myofascial release), concussion management and others.

Dr. Christine enjoys working with you on sport- and dance-related injuries, headache and concussion management, exercise therapy for arthritis management, and mobility for long-term wellness. She also has a special interest in helping Ottawa’s firefighters, paramedics, police officers, nurses, armed forces and other tactical athletes (as she likes to call them) whose work demands a higher level of physical fitness. She has first hand experience working with the Toronto Fire Service members while conducting research on injury prevention tactics. Dr. Rad enjoys working on physical rehabilitation for better function, improved performance and maintaining independence so you can move, feel and perform your best.

“It’s not about what services you offer. It’s about the problem you help solve for others.”

Growing up, she played elite soccer and performed around the world with her traditional Ukrainian dance ensemble. Currently, she enjoys exploring her new home here in Ottawa and spending time outdoors with her partner Dr. Rich and their husky Tren. Dr. Christine has also been involved with weight lifting and some powerlifting with Dr. Rich’s influence on mental and physical benefits of working with a barbell. Exploring the many green spaces Ottawa has to offer, trail running is a must for this trio.
