Joint Cortisone injection: $150 for 1 site + $60 for additional sites
Cortisone injections work by delivering corticosteroid medication directly into an inflamed area. This helps reduce inflammation and pain by suppressing the immune system’s response, providing relief from conditions like arthritis, tendinitis, and bursitis.
Cortisone injections typically start to relieve pain within a few days, although some people may feel relief within hours. The effects can last from a few weeks to several months, depending on the condition being treated and the individual’s response to the injection.
Most healthcare providers recommend limiting cortisone injections to no more than three or four times a year in the same area. Frequent injections can increase the risk of side effects, such as weakening of the tendons and bones.
After receiving a cortisone injection, you should rest the affected area for at least 24 to 48 hours. Avoid strenuous activities and follow any specific instructions provided by your healthcare provider to ensure optimal recovery.

If you have diabetes, cortisone injections can cause a temporary increase in blood sugar levels. It’s important to monitor your blood sugar closely and discuss any concerns with your healthcare provider. In most cases, you can still have a cortisone shot, but your provider may take additional precautions.
