Currently, she enjoys exploring new trails here in Ottawa and spending time outdoors with her fiancé Dr. Rich and their husky Tren.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Physiotherapy and Chiropractor Hunt Club FAQs

How Do I Know Which Treatment I Need?

If you’re dealing with mobility issues, muscle weakness, or injury rehab, physiotherapy may be ideal. For problems with joint function, chiropractic care could be more appropriate. Often, we recommend a combination of both with massage therapy for optimal results. We’ll guide you during your initial assessment.

No, a referral is not required to see a physiotherapist or chiropractor at Ottawa Health: Performance and Rehabilitation. You can book your assessment directly with us. However, some insurance providers may require a physician’s referral to process claims for reimbursement.

We recommend checking your policy details in advance. Our team is happy to help clarify coverage requirements and assist with any documentation you might need to ensure a smooth and stress-free experience. You can reach out at any time if you’re unsure about your benefits or need help navigating insurance paperwork.

We recommend wearing loose, comfortable clothing that allows easy movement and access to the area being treated. For example, wear shorts if you’re coming in for a knee or hip issue, or a tank top if you’re being assessed for shoulder or upper back concerns. Proper footwear, such as running shoes, is also encouraged for exercise-based therapy. If you’re unsure, feel free to ask when you book your appointment. The goal is to help you feel at ease during your treatment and ensure your physiotherapist or chiropractor can work effectively.
The timeline for results varies depending on your condition, goals, and how consistently you follow your treatment plan. Some clients experience relief after just one or two sessions, while others see gradual improvements over several weeks. Progress depends on factors like injury severity, activity level, and overall health. Our team continuously tracks your progress and adjusts your care as needed to maximize outcomes. Most importantly, we’ll educate you along the way so you understand what’s working, what to expect, and how to support your recovery between visits.
